One of the main problems of developing countries is that they rely heavily on income to export one or a limited number of goods. In order to reduce the dependence of Iran's economy on crude oil exports, the orientation of export policies should be shifted towards the export of non-oil goods. This will not happen unless the existing opportunities in the export of various sectors are identified and these opportunities are operational zed through the growth of investment in this field. One of the key components affecting the development of exports and non-oil trade, especially in the agricultural sector and consequently rural development, attention to foreign direct investment and its short-term and long-term impact on trade prosperity and growth of rural development components. Be. This study aims to investigate the role of foreign investment in Khorasan Razavi province on the development of its foreign trade and also the impact of these two parameters on rural development of Khorasan Razavi province. The marketing of agricultural products has become increasingly important with the transition from traditional agriculture to the new stage, and given the fact that the centers of consumption of fish are far from the production areas, most of which are in the peripheral and rural areas. Considering the economic importance of fish in the country's economy and considering global competition in agricultural products and the high capacity of fish production, this study examines the marketing margin of fish and its impact on employment and attracting villagers to this profession. Data and information was collected through questionnaires from 232 salmon producers, 25 wholesale and 60 retailers in Ahwaz in 1395. In this study, data was collected by the markup-up model. The results showed that the margins of total marketing, wholesale and retail sales per kg of fish were 158585, 38268, and 120317 Rials, respectively. Also, with an increase in retail prices and the cost of marketing services, the marketing margin will increase by 89% and 0.31 units, respectively. The marketing cost coefficient of 29% of trout showed that marketing costs for salmon in Ahwaz were 29% of the average price per kilo of trout. Based on the estimated model, retail prices and marketing costs have a direct and significant relationship with producer income and have a reverse and significant relationship with the marketing margin of fish.

The Khabr National Park is the most important national park that is located in the South East of the country. It benefits from a great deal of animal and plant biodiversity and climate variability that are of great importance for rural recreation. Therefore, the National Park's valuation could explain its importance to the rural people and the tourists inside the park.as well as affect the decisions of the managers. The main aim of this study is to estimate the value of protecting the natural resources of this national park. The Logit model and a dual two-part selection method was used in order to investigate the factors affecting rural people and tourists’ willingness to pay. The data needed for this research study was collected by completing questionnaires and interviews with 228 persons from local people and tourists in 2015. This activity was carried out for three months using the Cochran general formula and random sampling was used. The results showed that factors such as gender, education, previous participation in promotional classes, participation in state institutions, being a local resident and income have a positive and significant effect while age and the proposed amount have a negative and significant effect on local people's willingness to pay (WTP). The per person’s average willingness to pay is about 180 thousand Rials and the per family’s average willingness to pay is about 800 thousand Rials per month. The results show that the rural people and the tourists inside the park and other tourists place a high value on the natural resources. Therefore, it is recommended that politicians and policy-makers pay special attention to these natural resources and invest more on maintaining and improving the quality of these resources.

The main objective of this article is to investigate the impact of cooperatives on the technical and economical empowering of farmers and agricultural development in the villages of Neishabour. The method of this research is analytical – descriptive and it has been carried out in 2013. The statistical society is composed of 4685 members and non-members of cooperatives in twenty villages of Neishabour. The sample size via the Cochran formula and stratified sampling technique has been calculated to be 252. Data collection has been performed through documentation and field study. For data analysis, the SPSS software package and the T-Student Test have been employed. The results of statistical analysis based on 13 economic indicators revealed that the average economic stability of the members is 2.64 which is slightly higher than 2.47; that is the average economic stability of non-members. Independent samples T-Test results between members and non-members revealed that the probability value is 0.004 which indicates that there exists a significant difference between average economic stability of members and non-members. The T-Test results with hypothetical mean of 3 and 4 showed that the majority of indicators are less than the average. Therefore, the impact of cooperatives in economic development is evaluated to be below the average limit and cooperatives could not play an important role in increasing the economic empowerment of farmers.

Abstract The quantity of the received calories by families is one of the important debates in public and development economic context. This is an attractive subject for government officials and policy makers in different countries. In the current paper, the impacts of households' income shocks, price and food commodity subsidies on the quantity of the received amount of calories in the rural parts of Iran are studied. For this purpose, we used time series data of 1961-2011 in the vector auto-regressive (VAR) model. The results indicated that the impact period of the applied shock on the quantity of paid subsidies to agricultural sector is shorter than the period of price and income shocks. Besides, the most sensitivity of calorie demand is related to the income factor. According to the research findings, we can conclude that for creating food security, we should create economic stability in the market and consider the final effect of changes in nutrition pattern when determining the policies regarding market regulation, subsidies and taxation regardless of income growth that affect rural households and will have a serious negative impact on calories.

Management will make a decision on the future market when economic interrelationships are considered as biological relationships. This paper presents a Differential Generalized Inverse demand system to explore the market of foods containing animal protein and the relationships between different strains of food market existing in the market are discussed in detail. Statistics needed to support the company's affairs and the livestock Statistical Yearbook of Agriculture from 1974 to 2011 was used. Inverse demand system estimated generalized differential (GIDS) and test compound coefficients show that the best model for studying the demand for food containing protein villages in the country is the IAIDS model. The results showed that compensation cross elasticity indices estimated in the inverse demand substitution indicates IAIDS milk and eggs as well as meat and poultry. Quantitative Elasticity indices following theoretical foundations based on compensation were negative. This means increase in the price of any commodity its consumption drops. Meat and milk are essential products for rural consumers. The results of using the Allen elasticity of substitution also show that poultry is the best substitute for milk and vice versa. Also, poultry is the best substitute for red meat and red meat is the best substitute for eggs.

The agricultural sector has a special and important place in Iran. In order to make policies and protocols in agricultural sector, it is necessary to better understand the effective factors in growing this sector. In this study, it was attempted to use an appropriate approach to analyze the components of the growth of agricultural products’ value. For this purpose, a non-parametric approach named “multiplicative decomposition method” based on time-series data (1991-92 – 2010-2011) were used to separate value’s growth to parameters such as price [1]growth, cultivation area growth, yield growth and changing cropping pattern and determine the effect of each parameter. The results showed that the growth of agricultural products’ value has had the average annual growth of 16 percent, while the value of the same products in the country showed the average annual growth of 18 percent. Although, the value of agricultural products during the study showed a positive growth, price growth and then cropping pattern were the main reason[2]s for this growth. In sum, these results represent lack of an appropriate improvement in land productivity growth and cropping pattern in Golestan province.

In parallel with the increasing global population, food security or increasing agricultural products is one of the biggest challenges that human society is faced with during the recent decades, this necessity led to overuse of pesticides and fertilizers which cause serious and sometimes irreversible dangers. In the resent years, several measures have been taken to return to organic agriculture. The current study attempted to represent a agronomic program in which decision makers in addition to their economic goals, pay more attention to environment by producing organic products. To achieve this goal, goal programming and its combination with Extended Lexicographic Goal Programming framework, based on multiple criteria decision making methods were used in Bardsir and Orzoyeh regions. The required data were collected using 567 questionnaires and doing interview with beneficiaries using random sampling method in 2013. In the current study, six different goals included profit maximization, employment of labor maximization, minimization of irrigation water, working machinery, fertilizer and pesticides at difference priorities were put in the model. The results indicated that by optimizing the cropping pattern; we can reduce consumption of harmful inputs without any reduction in yield or profit. Therefore, informing farmers about advantages of organic agriculture and government’s supports could be an effective step towards sustainable production.

Qazvin plain is one of the capable plains in Iran to produce of agricultural goods. Unfortunately, due to inordinate shafts digging and irregular use of groundwater the level of groundwater has been decreased during two last decades so that water balance is negative now. To conserve the groundwater resources in this plain, strategies and appropriate policies are needed and this requires a better understanding of farmers’ behavior. Therefore, in the present study in order to investigate farmers' behavior in using of groundwater and determine appropriate strategies to conserve of groundwater resources in Qazvin plain, positive mathematical programming and production function with constant elasticity of substitution were used. The investigated strategies included increase in water price, decrease in water availability and deficit irrigation strategy and were investigated under various scenarios. The required data were registered information related to 2011-2012 collected from relevant departments in Qazvin province. The model was solved using GAMS 23/9 software. The results showed that all the investigated strategies led to water saving however the average gross profit changes decreased by 3.13, 8.61 and 5.54 percent with increasing water price, decrease in water availability and deficit irrigation, respectively. Finally, considering the less reduction in average gross profit, the irrigation water pricing and then deficit irrigation strategies were proposed to conserve groundwater resources in Qazvin plain.

Appropriate use of non-conventional water resources including surface runoff and sewage is produced an issue that has emerged as a necessity particularly in Iran. This thread has been created specifically in Tehran. The current study was aimed to investigate the economic value of sewage at Agricultural Sector in South of Tehran with produced approach in the contaminated and clean area. From the results, the average yield of wheat production among the farmers from polluted water was 376 kg ha-1 more than farmers who used clean water. Moreover, the economic value of water was 110 Rials more than farmers who used clean water. According to the results, the total value of wastewater in Tehran in 1405 would be equivalent to 335,480 million Rials. The priorities for interests of irrigation using wastewater from an agricultural perspective suggests that availability and reliability of wastewater than other water sources and low cost of its use is the most important benefit. The next priority result of irrigation with wastewater is increasing crop yield and improving soil fertility. This explains why farmers despite the legal prohibition of the use of untreated sewage continue to utilize this source of irrigation water.

Jazmoryan Wetland is one of the most sensitive ecosystems in the South East of the country which is declining due to dam construction in upstream as well as deficiency of environmental water supply. The wetland seem to dry out due to its geographical location and construction of Bampour Diversion Dam and Jiroft Reservoir Dam on major rivers flowing to this wetland. One of the solutions proposed by some researchers to restore the aquatic environments is to fallow some parts of irrigated lands fed by water behind the dams and release these resources. Hence, the present study was aimed to investigate the feasibility of implementing low-crop planting plan to restore Jazmoryan wetland. The study was run by using data from 212 questionnaires in 2014. In order to analyze the factors affecting the participation of farmers in the project, a two-stage Heckman method consisting of two patterns of probit and linear regression was used. The results of probit pattern showed that variables of acreage, education, occupation, number of household members and income of farmers had a significant effects on their willingness to participate in the restoration of Jazmoryan wetland. However, according to the results of linear regression pattern, variables of acreage, age, education, marriage status, number of household members and income had a significant effects on the willingness of farmers to participate in the restoration of Jazmoryan wetland. According to the results, 61% of farmers were not willing to participate in the proposed plan. It is suggested that if the government is willing to implement low-crop planting project, the percentage of participation in the plan will be increased by developing appropriate lateral plans and presenting solutions which are accepted by the farmers.

In this study different irrigation methods of wheat in the Fars province were analyzed using metafrontier approach technological gap ratio. For this purpose, information about 100 farmers that were interviewed randomly in 2013 was used. The sample farms were divided into two groups (with and without sprinkler irrigation systems) based on the different irrigation methods. The results of estimating the regional frontier production function showed that the technical efficiency for the group with sprinkler irrigation system and the group without sprinkler irrigation system is 0.87 and 0.82, respectively. It means that these producers with a certain amount of average input produce about 87 percent and 82 percent of the product, respectively that could possibly be produced using the same amount of input and available technology. The technical efficiency relative to the metafrontier production function in the group with sprinkler irrigation system and in the group without sprinkler irrigation is 0.84 and 0.72, respectively. The technological gap ratio for the above two groups is 0.96 and 0.88, which means that the sprinkler irrigation system has a better technical performance, and it has a higher technological gap ratio when compared with the with no irrigation system. This is a promising point for policy makers in the field of agriculture since production level could be improved by improvement in the production techniques and proper use of available resources. The results of the factors that are effective in acceptance of technology of sprinkler irrigation system that was evaluated using the Probit model have showed that variables of farmer experiment, their attending extension classes, farmer’s property, loan, risky propensities and ownership of wells all have a positive and significant effect on acceptance of technology of sprinkler irrigation systems.
